Experiment: One Deconditioned Day
When you are first beginning to let go of your conditioning, chances are that you might find that you don’t actually know who are without all the constraints, limitations, and structure put in place to corral and route your energy.
Since we’re little, we’re told when to wake up, when to eat, how to eat, exactly what to do at each time of day, and what we should put our attention on, at least 5 out of 7 days of the week.
If what we’ve been doing wasn’t in alignment with our Sacral energy, we also have likely spent a lot of our weekends or time off recovering or compensating for all the time we spend having our energy controlled or put towards things that don’t energize us.
One of the most valuable experiments I did when I started learning about Human Design was having One Deconditioned Day.
Choose a day where you can get away with having no constraints on your time.
Of course, there are always going to be other people in our lives and certain variables that we can’t control, but try to create an environment that is as open and free as possible to give you the opportunity to make intuitive decisions without any previous planning.
Wake up in the morning, and do only what your Sacral says yes to:
Get out of bed when your Sacral says yes, not because you think you should be up at a certain time
Eat what your Sacral guides you toward, not what you eat out of habit/because you think it’s healthy/etc
Eat when you want
Stop looking at the clock and let your Sacral be your timekeeper and scheduler
Don’t go anywhere or start anything until you get a yes! feeling about what you are going to do that feels nourishing and energizing
Suspend judgement on any of the things that you decide to do.
The results of this may be surprising! What’s shocking about our lives now (especially under the influence of capitalism) is that we might have lost touch with who we actually are i.e. what we like to do, when we like to do it, when we like to get up, when we like to eat, etc.
Here are the surprising findings from my own Deconditioned Day (and many deconditioned days since then since now all my days are lived from my Sacral!):
I like to wake up around 8:30 and not get out of bed until 9:30
I like to work and write in my pajamas until 12:30 or 1pm, while having something to drink (water, kombucha, turmeric latte or decaf)
When my energy isn’t being sapped, I have to exercise a few times a week to burn off excess energy (something I never had the energy for previously)
Some days I want to work 3-5 hours, some days I want to work 9-10 hours
Some days I don’t want to work at all
I like to spend the majority of my day alone
It feels SO good to free myself. At my previous job, almost every hour of my entire day was accounted for. That was the worst possible situation for me, and I felt like a caged animal with a tension headache by the end of every day. I am so happy to finally have the opportunity to know who I truly am and how I want to move through the world. The energy I am rediscovering within myself is unbelievable.
Have you had one deconditioned day? What did you find out about yourself? If not, give yourself this gift!

Rachel
