Human Design: Where to Begin?
The first time I heard about Human Design and pulled up my chart, I was overwhelmed by all the colors, channels, lines, and the symbols and numbers to the side. It took 3 more people casually mentioning Human Design to me to get me to finally dive in and figure out what it was. If you are new to Human Design, here is a good place to start:
PULL YOUR BODYGRAPH/CHART
You can do this at various sites, but I have created my own free chart calculator here!
FIND OUT YOUR TYPE, STRATEGY, AUTHORITY, AND PROFILE
There are a LOT of aspects of Human Design to look into, but these four are the most useful:
Type: how your aura interacts with the world
Strategy: how you are designed to move through the world
Authority: how you are designed to make decisions
Profile: your authentic role
READ UP ON THE BASICS OF HUMAN DESIGN
I also recommend you check out my quick-start guide to your Human Design for $9.99! It has been wildly popular in our community with thousands of purchases—everyone says it is a great place to start or a great reminder of who you really are!
This is available for all Human Design Types!

If Human Design is really resonating with you, here are some books that are a good place to start:
My new book, A Modern Guide to Human Design
If you like my blog, you’ll love this book. I wrote it to be beginner-friendly yet deep enough for someone who already knows about their Design to get something out of it. It covers Type, Strategy, Authority, Profile, Energy Centers, Variable (!!! —first time this is in a book), Gates and Channels, and how to decondition.
2. The Definitive Book of Human Design: The Science of Differentiation by Ra Uru Hu and Linda Bunnell
This is the big “textbook”-style book by Ra Uru Hu himself, who founded the Human Design system. It is not cheap but worth every penny - there is a lot of detailed information here about the system, including an index and brief description of the Incarnation Crosses. This is for people who want to go more in-depth with the system.
Also, because Human Design is a lived experiment, here are my colleagues who share info and life experience on instagram:
@vanesshenry - Manifestor
@ayceebrown - Projector
@lovejasminekenna - Manifesting Generator
@alexcantone - Projector
@puregenerators (me!)- Generator
There are many others, too! The important thing is to find someone who resonates with you.
Love,
Rachel
