What Your Human Design Chart Won't Tell You About Yourself
Our Human Design charts have a lot of info on them. How we can best use our energy in our work and relationships, how we best digest both food and information, our ideal environment, the frequency of the energies we are consistently bringing to the world, even the energy of our deeper life purpose (and so much more).
Human Design is all about the HOW, the mechanics. It’s an incredibly powerful tool, especially in personal development work where so many concepts can seem vague and we spend a lot of time discerning whether or not they resonate for us specifically. Knowing how we operate, how we make decisions, and how we naturally interact with others helps us figure out how to effectively operate as a human, which saves us so much time, frustration/bitterness/disappointment/anger, and effort. It opens us to being more loving and accepting of both ourselves and the world around us.
When we find systems like these, it’s easy to begin to identify with them deeply. And that’s ok! It’s good, it’s fun, it’s also helpful and transformative. I am so thankful for these tools. At the same time, I am aware that there is so much of me (and others) that I can’t know anything about from their HD chart. There is another ingredient that makes us who we are - magic.
Sure, as Pure Generators and MG’s, we have a Sacral Response (and possibly Emotional Authority) that tell us what we have energy for. But how were the things that energize us determined? Where in my Human Design Chart does it explain why I feel a physical reaction to certain colors and shapes together? Where does it show my life-long interest in the nature and expression of the soul? It doesn’t tell me why certain books and films move me or explain the deep connection I feel to the ocean or the cosmos.
The directions, interests, loves, and purpose we have in life shows up for each of us so differently - what feels incredibly exciting for me as a Generator may feel like complete contraction and dread for another Pure Generator or MG. One Projector’s expertise may seem completely alien and uninteresting for another one. One Manifestor’s mission, movement, project, or business may seem completely boring to a different Manifestor. One Reflector’s experience in an environment may be completely different from another’s.
We all have something magical inside of us that exists completely in a mysterious “black box.”
Human Design does not tell us what’s in that black box. It does help us figure out how to access it and express it in the world. Why did I come here loving the things I love? Where does the unique sparkle that we are all born with as children come from? We all came here as a unique sliver of life itself. And that magic…it can’t be torn apart or explained.
So…remember that you are magic. There is something inside of you that is just…you. It is pure, it is alive, it can’t be dissected. Human Design is just here to help us express that magic in the world.
